Thousands of people once again lined up in Moscow to bid farewell to Alexei Navalny. This is the third day in a row that Russians paid tribute at the grave of the opposition leader.

One of the mourners told Reuters, “The pain is unbearable.” He added: “On the day of his funeral, my body could not cope, but today I regained some strength again, and that is why I came to express my condolences.”

In this video people talk about why they came to the grave:

“He suffered for justice and truth”

Navalny has been a role model for his supporters because he has openly attacked President Putin. It is not clear what exactly he died from. His team accuses the authorities of murder, but has not yet provided evidence. The Kremlin denies these accusations.

The sea of flowers at the Borisov Cemetery is now growing steadily. Navalny’s team spokeswoman, Kira Yarmysh, thanked those present on social media. “Thank you for your photos, flowers and support.”

Yarmysh shared a video of the long queue in front of the cemetery:

Navalny’s funeral last Friday turned into one of the largest political demonstrations in Russia in years. It was a special situation because the authorities allowed the tribute. Due to harsh repression, political demonstrations in Russia have become practically impossible. However, police were present in large numbers at the funeral and measures were taken to keep the tributes as small as possible.
