Eleven host cities were assigned to the United States. They are in Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles / Sophie Stadium, Miami, New York / New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle. Football will be played in Canada, Toronto and Vancouver. Mexico hosts the World Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico City and Monterrey.
“We congratulate the 16 host cities for their extraordinary commitment and enthusiasm,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “Today is a historic day for everyone in these 16 cities and states, as well as for FIFA, Canada, the United States and Mexico. All of these parties will host the best show in the world. We look forward to working with them to deliver an unprecedented world championship in which we strive to make football truly global.
“We are pleased with the unparalleled competitiveness of this selection process. We are very grateful not only for the sixteen cities selected, but also for the other six cities. We would love to continue to work with those cities and see the potential of teams that welcome fans and participate. There is no doubt that it will have a huge impact on the wider football community, ”said Victor Montagliani, President of the Confederation of American and Caribbean Confederations.
