Well, things are moving quickly now: the update with Android 14 and One UI 6 is also now rolling out to the Samsung Galaxy S21 series. Earlier today, the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy Z Flip/Fold 5 also arrived.
Galaxy S21 update: Android 14 and One UI 6
After today, any appearance that Samsung is rolling out the Android 14 and One UI 6 upgrade more slowly than last year’s Android 13 has disappeared. Samsung is now rapidly updating all types of popular Galaxy phones and devices. After updating several other devices today, the update is now also starting for the Galaxy S21 series.
Downloading approximately 2.3 to 2.4 GB takes devices to firmware version G99*BXXU9FWK2. The phones already have the November patch, so the new upgrade revolves around Android 14 and One UI 6.

There are also improvements for weatherWidget and app, that Lock the screenAnd new widgets and options for camera. Keep in mind: This is a big upgrade and will take some time to process. More importantly, the software may take some time to optimize itself again after installation. Keep in mind that your battery will drain a little faster in the hours following the upgrade. This eventually gets normalized again and is therefore not a bug.
Availability
At the time of writing, the Android 14 upgrade is already underway Unbranded Galaxy S21 and S21+ in the Netherlands and Belgium. This also applies to described S21 and S21+ from Vodafone. On Galaxy S21 Ultra It will certainly follow soon – hopefully later today – but not yet It’s available now too.
The Galaxy S21 FE will receive the same upgrade at a different time. According to Samsung’s own schedule, this will happen in December, although this also applies to other S21 models that have already received it.
As usual, you can wait for the automatic update notification. Or you can manually check right away if you can actually get the upgrade via Settings -> Software Update -> Download and Install.
