Best-selling journalist and writer Nicholas Evans horse whisperer wrote, passed away. The literary agent announced that the 72-year-old Briton died unexpectedly of a heart attack last week. He died at his home in Devon, England.

In 1995, Evans’ first novel appeared horse whisperer which has been a huge success all over the world. 15 million copies have been sold and the book has been translated into dozens of languages. In the Netherlands, the novel appeared in the form of horse whisperer.

Traumatized horse

The book is about teenage girl Grace McClain, who is injured in an accident with her horse. As a result, her pilgrim horse is traumatized and helped by the “Horse Whisperer”. The idea for the novel came to Evans when, as a journalist, he heard that there were people who could cure horse trauma by speaking to them calmly.

Even before the novel came out, the movie rights had already been sold. Released in theaters in 1998, the film stars Robert Redford as the title role and Scarlett Johansson as teenage Grace. The film was also a huge success. Johansson was 12 years old at the time, and she broke into a movie role.

poisonous mushrooms

In 2008, Evans nearly died from eating poisonous mushrooms he had picked in Scotland. He and his wife, Scottish singer-songwriter Charlotte Gordon Cumming, were taken to hospital. The writer suffered acute kidney failure and underwent a kidney transplant from his daughter a few years later.
