SEGA announces Mega Drive Mini 2. The new retro console will launch in Japan in October and will feature more than 50 games, including Mega-CD titles. It is not known if the console will also be available outside of Japan.

The first Mega Drive Mini appeared in 2019, with 42 games, including previously unreleased Darius and Tetris ports. From October 27, the Mega Drive Mini 2 will be available in Japan for 9,980 yen, or 71 euros. It is not clear if the retro console will also be released in Europe.
Mega-CD is an extension of Mega Drive, a 16-bit SEGA console. The expansion made it possible to play CDs with music, but Mega-CD games with better graphics and sound also appeared. The Mega-CD was released in Europe in 1993, three years after the European release of the Mega Drive.
