Republicans in the US House of Representatives have launched an investigation into Georgia’s attorney general’s alleged election fraud. Former President Donald Trump is expected to be jailed overnight from Thursday to Friday (Dutch time).

Trump and his associates are facing criminal charges in Georgia for trying to rig the 2020 presidential election.
A letter to attorney Fannie Willis said it had “serious concerns” that she may have acted for political reasons. The Republican Party has a majority in the Lok Sabha.
The letter was written by Republican Jim Jordan, a Trump ally and chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. In it, he asks whether Willis coordinated a statewide investigation with the Justice Department and whether he used federal taxpayer money. Trump has also been sued nationally.
