Pierre Boukma plays one of the main roles in a new TV series about the Jewish Council. Evangelical Radio (EO) announced this on Thursday. Claire Bender and Jack Waters, among others, can also be seen in the series, which is expected to hit TV next year.
Series Jewish Council It is based in part on the book written in 1983 by journalist Hans Knopp about the Jewish Council. The Nazis formed the council during World War II to ensure the effective deportation of Dutch Jews.
Bockma stars as David Cohen, the head of the council, who continues to move alongside the German occupiers to prevent the worst from happening. In doing so, he inadvertently contributes to the deportation of over 100,000 Dutch Jews. Bender plays his daughter, who helps hundreds of Jewish children go into hiding. Wouterse can be thought of as the diamond dealer Abraham Asher.
The series is produced by Levitate Film, which is known for, among other things, the movie Battle of the Scheldt. Screenplay by Ross Owehand (my vidaAnd eyeballs) and Paul Jan Nelson (From God is freeAnd winter of war). The film is directed by Paula van der Ost, Alan de Levita, and Mathis van Heijingen Jr. Jewish Council It is expected on NPO1 in 2024.
