Microsoft released Android 12L upgrade for Surface Duo and Surface Duo 2 – Tablets and Phones – News

On Monday, Microsoft rolled out Android 12L, intended for devices with larger screens, available for its Surface Duo smartphones. The upgrade for phones provides a new user interface and updated icons.

In a blog post, Microsoft . writes That the new user interface is visible in, among other things, the general settings of phones and the Microsoft Launcher activity feed. Four new wallpapers have also been added, which are similar to the desktop wallpapers in Windows 11. With the Surface Slim Pen 2, which works with the Surface Duo 2 and Surface computers, the user can now access a shortcut menu with up to four apps. The user can set which applications appear in this list.

Microsoft has also released a revamped privacy dashboard that tracks apps’ camera, microphone, and location usage over the past 24 hours. The company says that using the camera and microphone is now always in the status bar. The camera and microphone can be turned off or on directly via Quick Settings.

Additionally, Microsoft has added new widgets that allow chats to be pinned to the home screen. In addition, the zoom function has been improved, there are more options for brightness and color and it is easier to transfer data to or from another phone.
