Microsoft adds bi-directional support for cookies to IE mode in Edge – Computer – News

As a security consultant, I work with websites on a daily basis. Of course there are also things to consider, such as whether a session cookie is both length-secure and flag-secure, so that should be a piece of cake for me.

WTF is a bidirectional cookie? That the client on the server sets the cookie or what? Meaningless, it breaks the entire HTTP client-server model. The article only mentions that it should be possible to “send data from modern websites, via cookies, to older websites but not the other way around”. Are third-party cookies blocked less frequently or how? Or is it a newer SameSite feature? It must be a legacy thing so I should have known about it for a long time.

maybe someone d Microsoft terms (Edit: Tweakers terminology turns out) He knows and understands it but I have no idea what this article is about.

Edit: Read the source article. It’s about syncing cookies between two Microsoft browsers, one browser with two modes or something silly no one here uses. The title was literally clearer than this entire article.

Shared cookies between IE mode and Microsoft Edge sessions
