It is already there: 1,449 euros for a liter of gasoline. The price of diesel from the pump is 1,109 euros. It leads to a massive frenzy on Monday evening at the DCB gas station at the Flight Forum in Eindhoven. Several hundred cars are queuing.
Is it a technical glitch? Or a price ploy? No one at DCB could be reached for comment. “It’s being worked on,” that’s all the night watchman wants.
Almost 60 cents cheaper
Until then, motorists are eager to refuel near the airport. This pays off. The price difference with the nearest competitor is 59 cents.

The news spreads like wildfire on social media. There is now a long line of bargain hunters. The waiting time continues to increase. People who line up in their car around 9:30 p.m. lose more than fifteen minutes before their turn.
Jerry cans are also packed
A lot of people who refuel seem almost unbelievable. They text and send messages to family and friends to fill up their car’s tank, too. “I have no idea how long this will take, but I’m glad I got there in time,” says one very satisfied customer.
Some customers even come with jerrycans. “Nice fill,” another man laughs while his wife meanwhile takes the tractor out of the car. “This is allowed every day,” she adds. “Wonderful.”
