Many protests after the publication of photos of the murder of a black man in the United States  Abroad

Demonstrations are taking place in several cities in the United States after the release of images of the arrest of a black American, Dyer Nichols. A 29-year-old man died during his arrest.

In Memphis, among other deadly arrests, people took to the streets. Smaller-scale demonstrations are also taking place in cities such as New York, Atlanta, Asheville and Sacramento.

American cities braced themselves for major protests, but not within hours of the images’ release. Relatives of Nicholas and US President Joe Biden have called for the protests to remain calm.

In Memphis, a group of protesters blocked a highway and bridge over the Mississippi. According to The Washington Post There was a long traffic jam. According to the newspaper, there were no police and the protest was peaceful.

In New York, people protested in Times Square. According to The New York Times A group of about two hundred men were at their feet. At least one protester was arrested for breaking the windshield of a police car. Images on social media show mostly peaceful and small-scale protests elsewhere in the United States.
