Google unveils Pixel 5a 5G phone with bigger screen and better battery – tablets and phones – news

Google unveiled the Pixel 5a 5G on Tuesday. The phone is the successor to Google’s cheapest smartphone line and follows the Pixel 4a 5G. The smartphone has a 6.34-inch screen and a 4,680mAh battery, which is the largest battery in a Pixel phone to date.

The smartphone was already indirectly confirmed by the tech giant in April in response to Rumors There will be no Pixel 5a. Now Google has a Pixel 5a 5G phone officially announced. The phone is slated for August 26 in the US and will cost $449.

The Pixel 5a 5G has a 6.34-inch OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution. As expected from a Pixel phone, the Pixel 5a 5G is running the latest version of Android 11. It’s all supported. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor.

In addition to the larger screen, the 4,680mAh battery is also amazing. The battery is larger than on the more powerful Pixel 5 and Google claims the battery should last at least a day. This means that the smartphone is slightly heavier than its predecessor. The Pixel 5a 5G weighs 183 grams compared to the 168 grams of the Pixel 4a 5G.

On the front side, the Pixel 5a 5G is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera. On the back, the camera features a 12MP primary camera and a 16MP wide-angle camera. Which turns away the rumors from earlier this week confirmed.

Google will only release the Pixel 5a 5G in the US and Japan. Pixel devices are usually released by Google only in a few countries, but this time there is no doubt about a European version.

In addition to the Pixel 5a 5G, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro have yet to appear this year, with Google’s own Tensor soc. Both phones became available in early August announce by Google and will be released this fall.
