Google announces Pixel Fold, more details coming May 10 – Tablets & Phones – News

Google has announced the Pixel Fold, the company’s first foldable smartphone. The smartphone can be seen exposed and closed in a short video clip. Google says it wants to share more about the foldable device at I/O on May 10.

The Pixel Fold has been rumored for quite some time and the video seems to confirm many of those rumours. For example, Jon Prosser posted a video in April claiming that the device will have a 7.6-inch screen inside with a resolution of 2208 x 1840 pixels. From the outside, there will be a 5.8-inch screen with a resolution of 2092 x 1080 pixels. Both screens will have a refresh rate of 120Hz.

On the back, according to Prosser, there’s a 48MP sensor and two 10.8MP sensors for the ultrawide and telephoto cameras. The soc will be the Google Tensor G2 soc. In addition to the Pixel Fold, Google has previously confirmed the launch of another Pixel device, presumably the Pixel 7a.
