French actor and director Mathieu Kassovitz was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, French media reported. The 56-year-old actor, known for Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain, was taken to hospital in a “worrying condition”.

The accident occurred at the Montlhéry circuit, south of Paris. According to Le Parisien newspaper, Kassovitz is not currently in danger.
The French director succeeded in 1995 with his film La Haine. For this film, he won the Palme d’Or for Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival.
