‘Shelby Mustang’: It looks really tough and is instantly reminiscent of the mean-looking, muddy fat Mustangs with the symmetrical V8 under the hood. However, the latest Shelby Mustang model, the now-introduced Shelby Mustang Mach-E GT, is electric. However, fans of the powerful V8 roll do not need to be sad, because the car is equipped with V8 sound generator from Borla. We know this brand as a manufacturer of aftermarket exhausts, mainly for American companies muscle cars.

We’d venture to suspect the electric Shelby sounds as tough as its less eco-friendly brethren because of that sound generator, but that shouldn’t spoil the fun. Shelby went much further with the Mustang Mach-E GT’s handling, which includes some carbon fiber hardware and new wheels and strips. The result is a somewhat ferocious look (which shows similarities to the previous concept), which distinguishes the GT variant of the Ford Mustang Mach-E far more than its less efficient versions without the addition of the more usual GT.

To convert a regular Mustang Mach-E GT into a Shelby Edition, you must transfer at least €24,900 to Shelby Europe. The brand then installs its upgrades on existing cars, because the package cannot be ordered from the factory. It is limited to one hundred units and is intended to contribute to the performance of the Mustang Mach-E GT, without Shelby’s concern for the powertrain. It remains – also with Shelby – a potent 487 horsepower.

How do you get Shelby extra power? Well, this is ensured by lighter wheels, more aerodynamics, more weight savings and a chassis. It is still unknown if the weight saving also results in a record sprint time shorter than the “normal” 3.7 seconds.
