A 57-year-old Dutch woman caused a commotion at Dusseldorf Airport when she wanted to stand on the runway yesterday morning so she could catch her flight to Spain. I tookPark and flyIn every sense, German police jokes.
She introduced herself to the guard at one of the entrance gates and told her to drive up the tarmac to the plane. She was furious that the guard at the entrance gate – “of course,” the police wrote – did not immediately meet the Dutchman’s expectations. She protested and with a violent expression, she refused to leave. In addition, the guard noticed a characteristic smell of alcohol, so he called the police.
Officers determined that the woman was “under the influence” of alcohol. Also missing plane ticket and baggage. The woman’s driver’s license was also confiscated, as was her car key. She has to pay a deposit of 900 euros. “Something different from a beach holiday in Spain,” the German police concluded dryly.
