Operations were also carried out at airports in North Carolina, California and Washington. The exact number of those arrested is not known. In New Jersey, at least 15 to 20 people will be arrested. Two people clinging to an object would have been taken to the hospital.
At least a dozen countries have taken climate action in recent days. Almost three hundred people were arrested in operations at Schiphol on Saturday.
About four hundred activists from Greenpeace and the Extinction Rebellion entered the Schiphol-East field, where after cutting the fence with a grinder, commercial and private planes are handled with small planes. Some activists chained themselves to various devices, while others rode bicycles on the platform.
