Largest value from China, Taiwan and Mongolia, largest weight from Russia
In 2021 the total was 631 billion Goods entering the Netherlands are in kilograms. As a result, the weight of goods delivered increased by 6 percent compared to 2020 and returned to the level of 2019 before the Corona crisis. Deliveries of goods worth 940 billion euros in 2021, 17 percent more than in 2020. About 61 percent (by total weight) of imported goods left the Netherlands (almost) unprocessed.
By weight, Russia was the largest supplier with a 14 percent share in 2021. Germany is second with 11 percent, followed by Belgium and Luxembourg and the United States. In terms of value of goods supplied, China, Taiwan and Mongolia led the group with a share of 17 percent in 2021. Germany is again in second place (13 percent), followed by the European Union group of countries in Eastern Europe (8 percent).
Russia and the United States play a minor role in the value of goods delivered by weight. In contrast, the group of countries China, Taiwan and Mongolia measured a small share in terms of landing weight, but a large share in terms of landing value.

Fossil fuels account for more than two-thirds of US imports
Crude oil, petroleum products, and coal and lignite will make up nearly 70 percent of U.S. product imports by 2021. About 11 percent consisted of basic chemicals and fertilizers. By value, imports from the United States consisted mostly of transportation equipment (22 percent), machinery and electronics (20 percent), and crude oil and petroleum products (together more than 20 percent).
In 2021, supplies from China, Taiwan and Mongolia comprised 21 percent of machinery and electronics, basic chemicals and fertilizers (13 percent), and basic metals and metal products (12 percent). The value of shipments from China, Taiwan and Mongolia in 2021 was dominated by machinery and electronics (more than 60 percent), as well as transportation equipment (7 percent) and textiles, leather and related products (7 percent).
