The iPad replaced both the desktop and the laptop, and I’m still waiting for it .
I bought an iPad Pro (12.7″) this summer and after some research, it uses only ~3W while surfing, including the (integrated) screen, and is powerful enough to function as a PC.
I am repeating myself but because of various changes in software industry like Windows, MacOS, iOS, streaming, SAAS, web applications etc. Nowadays one can be very independent and do a lot more with a classic Windows PC. Additional tasks, other application devices including iPad (Pro). Depending on what you do, you can do anything.
The problem is no longer hardware, that problem was actually solved years ago. Software is no problem either. No, the problem is changing workflow, time, effort and costs, and high levels of inflexibility and lack of insight/creativity.
For some, the iPad has actually replaced the laptop/desktop. How many people hiccup at the price of an iPad (Pro), let alone the more expensive Magic Keyboard. That’s part of the reason why it’s not easy to accept.
One of the biggest problems with the iPad solution for me The screen is relatively small, which limits the use of multiple displays. I’d like to test it more, but I have more things on my to-do list…but…that Vision Pro would completely eliminate my problem with screens and the size of those screens.
