Biden’s candidacy raises the possibility of a rematch in the 2020 election campaign, where he ran against then-incumbent Donald Trump. The Republican Party announced six months ago that he would run again for a seat in the White House. Ultimately, on Inauguration Day, Biden was 82 and Trump was 78.
“When I ran for president four years ago, I said we were fighting for the soul of America. We still are,” Biden said in the video. It also marked a confrontation with Trump by showing images of the Capitol attack.
Whether this will be another battle between Biden and Trump will be shown in the primaries between Democrats and Republicans. They are from February to June of the following year. The presidential election is on November 5, 2024.
