Biden faces a lot of hurdles to overcome on his path to re-election abroad

The current president may not have an advantage

American presidents often succeed when they run for re-election. In the past 100 years, it has failed four times: Herbert Hoover in 1932, Jimmy Carter in 1980, George HW Bush in 1992, and Donald Trump in 2020.

The common denominator in all of these failed election campaigns was the bad economy. The sitting president is primarily judged by the American voter based on the state of the economy.

Because of the war in Ukraine and the consequences of the Corona pandemic in particular, the American economy is in tatters. Because of the war, gasoline prices skyrocketed to record levels. In a car country like the United States, citizens feel it right away.

Due to high inflation, more and more people are struggling to make ends meet. Especially now that there are no more Corona support packages. bloomberg I mentioned at the end of March that the chance of the US economy contracting will only increase in the near future.

It always leads to voters’ discontent with the president when their wallets get hit. Only three presidents were less popular than Biden when they declared re-election: Carter, Ronald Reagan and Trump. Only Reagan overcame this unpopularity and won a second term.

Trump’s latest arrest has further strained relations within the Republican Party. However, many Republicans still view Trump as the best chance of winning the White House Recovery. Despite everything, he is proudly leading in the opinion polls.

Only Ron DeSantis gets close to Trump. Florida’s governor has had to give up land in recent weeks in Polls. Other candidates, such as Nikki Haley and Trump’s former Vice President Mike Pence, appear to have no chance beforehand.

The American voter stands do not jump For a second round of Biden vs. Trump. But as things stand now, this is the most likely scenario.
