It has now become an annual tradition: Samsung kicks off the start of the new year with the introduction of new smartphones. Expect a lot of news from the electronics group in the coming weeks. The company will start immediately in 2022 with the introduction of Galaxy S21 FE 5G.
In collaboration with Belsimpel, Tweakers Partners is organizing a unique test panel on the new fan version of the flagship. At the time, the Galaxy S20 FE was a remarkably good option compared to competitors in this price range and was well reviewed by Tweakers. Testing if this is also the case with the Galaxy S21 FE 5G? Register below to take the survey.
The Fan Edition, the Galaxy S21 FE 5G, is actually a subtly modified version of the S21 that came out in 2021. For Samsung fans who can’t wait, the Galaxy S21 FE 5G can already be ordered at Belsimpel, either as a separate device or in combination with a subscription. If you order the device no later than January 23, 2022, you will receive a Galaxy Buds2 worth 149 euros as a gift.
Galaxy S21 FE 5G specifications
The S21 FE retains the sleek and elegant design that defines this series. The Contour-Cut frame integrates seamlessly with the camera body and has a premium look. With a slim 7.9mm casing, the S21 FE is easy to use. The dimensions of the device are 74.5 x 155.7 x 7.9 mm and its weight is 177 grams.
Under the hood we find a lot of technology. For example, a smartphone has a 6.4-inch Dynamic Amoled 2X display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Manufacturers promise that this will produce sharp and smooth images. With a 6.4-inch screen, the Galaxy S21 FE falls between the S21 and S21+. This is a good suggestion for users who play a lot of games or who love to watch movies and series on their phone. The powerful Snapdragon 888 processor lets you switch between apps quickly and navigate seamlessly. The processor houses a Qualcomm Kryo 680 CPU with eight cores: four Cortex-A55 cores with a maximum clock speed of 1.8GHz, three Cortex-A78 cores at 2.42GHz and one powerful Cortex-X1 core. This “core” core provides a clock speed of up to 2.84GHz at 888 soc.
The Galaxy S21 FE 5G has a total of three camera lenses on the back: a 12MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide angle sensor, and an 8MP telephoto lens. In addition, we find a single camera on the front for making video calls or taking selfies. The resolution of this camera is 32 megapixels. Selfies should be better than before thanks to improvements AI facial restoration-Job. With Dual Recording, you can record what’s happening in front of you and behind you.
Long-lasting battery, wireless charging and PowerShare
Long battery life is a must for today’s smartphone users. The S21 FE is equipped with a 4,500mAh battery that Samsung claims will last you all day. An optional 25W ultra-fast charger is available upon request. With this, the smartphone is charged to 50 percent in half an hour. The phone is rechargeable wirelessly and the battery can be shared. Thanks to Wireless PowerShare, you can use the phone to charge headphones, a smartwatch, or a friend’s phone.
With Samsung’s One UI 4, users can customize their smartphone experience to their liking. Start screens, icons, notifications, wallpapers, etc. can be set to your own taste. Tools have been redesigned and upgraded to provide additional customization options. In the privacy dashboard, you will find everything about your security and privacy in one handy place.
The smartphone, which runs on Android 12, is IP68 certified. So making a phone call in the rain or dropping it in a (small) swimming pool shouldn’t be a problem. IP68 certification promises that the phone is protected against splashes and raindrops, and will survive if submerged to a depth of 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
