Bailiff threatens 2000 entrepreneurs who are not currently paying Corona support

The Dutch Enterprise Agency (RVO) is having difficulty recovering the unjustly paid Corona subsidy. About two thousand entrepreneurs do not respond to emails, letters or phone calls. The RVO transfers claims, so that the Central Judicial Collection Agency (CJIB) can still collect the amounts owed.

During the Corona crisis, the RVO was responsible for paying the Fixed Fee Allowance (TVL). Entrepreneurs who lost a lot of their sales due to the shutdown were compensated for part of the fixed costs by the government.

Of the 420 thousand companies that received this financial assistance, about 55 thousand have to repay it. The actual loss of their turnover was less than expected.

RVO understands that it can be very difficult for entrepreneurs to repay the Corona subsidy during this period of high inflation, high energy prices and low purchasing power. This is why entrepreneurs can make a payment arrangement. But the agency must also contact them for this.

If, after six attempts, it is not possible to contact the entrepreneur, the RVO sees no other option than to contact the CJIB.
