At least 5 people have died due to tornadoes in the US state of Missouri. An unknown number of people were injured. Rescuers search for victims among the rubble of collapsed buildings.

Victims fell in southeast Missouri. According to local authorities, the destruction is mainly in rural areas.

Severe hail damage occurred in Iowa and Illinois. The storm continues and major cities such as Chicago, Detroit and Indianapolis are also at risk of damage.

Earlier this week, severe storms and tornadoes killed 32 people in the United States. A week earlier, the Rolling Forks in the Mississippi Delta killed 26 people and destroyed hundreds of homes.
