Apple supports third-party app stores installed outside the EU for up to 30 days – Tablets & Phones – News

You are contradicting yourself: checking locally on the device whether the iPhone is in the EU or not. Send response to Apple server: Not good.

So Apple knows where the iPhone, the user, is? What’s so local about it in your view?

In addition, our Dutch regulations stipulate that you can only consider yourself no longer registered in the Netherlands after 8 months.

So where does Apple get those 30 days? During my service I was at sea for a year, and as a foreign advisor I was overseas for 3-8 months.

Aside from that, I probably won’t use a third-party store: will Apple leave that choice alone or will they keep updating my device’s location?

I think this is a very possible unclear exit issue for iOS. This is an unacceptable logging level, because to what extent will the site’s functionality be secure enough that it cannot be hacked or used by malicious parties?

I’ve already thought about the fact that a turned off iPhone provides location information – but that’s too vague for a privacy-focused Apple and especially unfriendly in my opinion.

I don’t really understand what people are afraid of because on Android, these third party stores have almost no control over the end users and creators of the software that customers need from the play store.

I don’t have huge numbers or sources for this, but ask any Android user which store they use, and guess 9/10 will say PlayStore.
