AMD announces Ryzen PRO processors for business laptops and desktops

AMD announced three desktop and six laptop processors in its PRO line of business processors. The processor designer basically shows off an “AI engine,” a first for X86 processors, the company claims.

This Ryzen AI engine is only found on this generation laptop processors, AMD says. Desktop versions of Ryzen PRO processors should work without this feature. The AI engine is also present in the consumer versions of the laptops, but is not present in the previous generation of PRO processors.

The PRO versions of the processors are for business products and are not available to consumers. Differences include power consumption and security options. AMD says the first processors should already be in machines from HP and Lenovo this month.
