A13 Switzerland partially closed after floods

On the San Bernardino route (Switzerland), the A13 Chur – Bellinzona road has been closed in both directions to Mesocco since Sunday 23 June. A mudslide swept away part of the motorway.

Extra crowds St. Gotthard Tunnel (A2)

On Friday, July 5, one lane on the A13 motorway will likely be open again in both directions, but this will not be enough to handle the large traffic flows expected during the holidays. Our Swiss sister organisation TCS also expects this Additional delays on the A2 Lucerne-Chiasso at the St. Gotthard Tunnel.

Depending on the destination, holiday traffic can choose other routes:

  • via A12 Bern – Montreux via the Great St. Bernard Tunnel
  • via austria A13 Innsbruck-Bolzano via the Brenner Pass
  • Via France Lyon – Chambery-Mont Blanc Tunnel RN206
  • Via France Lyon-Grenoble Frejus Tunnel
