Overlapping target groups, duplicate activities (similar articles were written by both editors) “The ongoing challenge of delivering a full range of technology content on both platforms are the main reasons for this. As a result of this strategy, we have now reached, after four years, the point where we have decided to launch Hardware Information and it is no longer allowed to continue as a separate title.”
Hardware Info was founded in 1999 by Koen Crijns, Frank Everaardt and Eric van Ballegoie. Since 2016, the platform has been part of Tweakers’ parent company DPG Media, which was then called Persgroep Online Services. After the merger of the editorial board, the Device information in a “very reduced form”, with more emphasis on news. During this period, DPG Media also ceased publishing Hardware Information Magazine. The last issue of the magazine was published at the end of 2020.
