The newer iPhone 15 Pro can become extremely warm in the first days after purchase due to a software glitch. Apple is working on a solution after users complained that the smartphone became too hot to touch.
“The device may feel warm for the first few days after setting up or resetting the device due to increased background activity,” Apple said in a statement.
A bug in the latest iOS 17 software can cause the device to overheat while updating apps like Instagram and Uber. According to Apple, they don’t have to worry about their new phones getting damaged.
Instagram has now solved the problem for its own app. Apple is still talking to other app developers. A software update should fix the issue soon.
Hundreds of users have complained on social media and Apple Support in recent days that the new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max felt unnaturally warm. Some users even posted photos of a thermometer near their iPhone. It showed that the temperatures of the phones rose to more than 38 degrees Celsius.
Also problems with older version
It has recently emerged that the older version of smartphones, the iPhone 12 that came on the market in 2020, showed extremely high radiation levels. After the French authorities discovered this, they announced a ban on the sale of this phone.
These issues should also be resolved through an update. Once this is implemented, France will lift the ban on sales. There is no ban on sales in the Netherlands. According to the National Digital Infrastructure Inspection (RDI), the additional electromagnetic radiation does not pose any acute health risks.
