Alleged images of a Google Pixel 8 Pro prototype have been posted on Reddit. Various specifications can be drawn from this and an indication of the design of the device can be seen. Google is expected to announce the Pixel 8 series this fall.
The images will show a Google Pixel 8 Pro beta, so writes a Reddit user In a post that has already been deleted DroidLife. The codename “husky” can be seen on the device screen, which is said to be the codename for the device in question. Codename “Zuma” also reveals information, as this would be the name of the Tensor G3-soc. Based on the images, it appears that the device does indeed have a flat screen, which was previously reported by the participants.
Further, the boot screen shows that the device will be available in a configuration with 12GB Lpddr5 RAM by Samsung and 128GB storage by SK hynix. Matches current Google Pixel 7 Pro specifications.
In terms of design too, there are many similarities with previous generations of Pixel smartphones, although of course things could change, since it will be a prototype. The photos show a camera island with three lenses in one location. On the Pixel 7 Pro, the three lenses are divided into two parts on the entire island. Finally, a new sensor can be seen below the LED flash: an infrared sensor for measuring temperatures. Several previously spoken dropouts already about this sensor.
