Track 2024 NHL free agency: News, contracts, grades and buzz

The 2024 NHL Summer Transfer Period has kicked off in a big way. Just four days after the Florida Panthers won the Stanley Cup, the 2024 NHL Player Selection took place at Safir Arena in Las Vegas, featuring several big trades and 225 potential players finding new homes.

Now it’s time for the league’s 32 main offices to add new players to their rosters via free agency.

Here’s our constantly updated tracker, which includes a list of every player signed, plus analysis of the biggest deals and insight into what could happen next.

The Avalanche have added to their depth on the blue line, agreeing to terms with veteran defenseman Calvin de Haan on a one-year deal worth $800,000.


Forward Anthony Beauvillier has been traveling extensively over the past few seasons, and he’s on the move again in 2024-25, signing a one-year, $1.25 million deal with the Penguins.


Goaltender Jack Campbell’s blockbuster deal with the Oilers didn’t work out so well, so he moved to the Red Wings, agreeing to terms on a one-year contract worth $775,000.

Former Golden Knight forward Chandler Stephenson is headed to Seattle, signing a seven-year, $43.75 million contract with the Kraken.

It’s a move that won’t receive as much attention as signing Stamkos, Marchessault and Skjei, but the Predators have made an addition to their goaltending group, signing Scott Wedgewood to a two-year, $3 million deal.


The Stars have found a replacement for Jake Oettinger, agreeing to terms with Casey DeSmith on a one-year, $3 million contract.


After reaching the Stanley Cup Final with the Oilers, forward Warren Foegele is headed to Los Angeles, where he signed a three-year, $10.5 million contract with the Kings.


Veteran defenseman Matt Grzelcyk won’t be patrolling the blue line for the Bruins; Instead, he signed a one-year, $2.75 million deal with the Penguins.
