This startup has created a laptop without a screen, with augmented reality glasses that act as a display. This device is now in pre-sale.
Last year, startup Sightful showed off a prototype concept for the Spacetop G1, a laptop that actually consists of the bottom of a regular laptop, but without a screen. Alternatively, you can purchase augmented reality glasses that project the screen in front of your eyes.
Spacestop G1 It measures 30 x 20.1 x 6.2 cm and weighs 1.4 kg. The device has a Snapdragon QCS8550 SoC with Andreno 740 IPU and 16GB Lpddr5 memory. The Spacetop has a full-sized keyboard with 79 keys and a track bar. According to the company, the laptop’s 60-watt battery can last eight hours. But the laptop’s specifications aren’t the most interesting; So you have to go to rest. Sightful is now offering the laptop for pre-sale for $1,900, which converts to around €2,100 including VAT. The device will be delivered in October. In addition to the laptop, buyers also get glasses. However, if you don’t trust those glasses or prefer to work on a traditional monitor, you can also connect them to one of the device’s two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports.
