Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra update available: better battery

The first real update for the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is now available. The changelog promises – among other things – battery and stability improvements.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra Update

Galaxy Watch Ultra update improves battery life and stability…

Exactly a week ago, Samsung rolled out the first update for the new Galaxy Watch 7. It was immediately clear that the Galaxy Watch Ultra was following its own update path. Now, a week later, that path leads to the first update, with a largely similar list of changes.

A package of over 175MB in size can now be downloaded, containing firmware version L705FXXU1AXG2. This is a real “first update,” as Samsung seems to be primarily addressing bugs in the software. The changelog mentions improvements to Stability and reliability‘.

Concretely, Samsung mentions that battery stability and charging stability are improving. While we obviously hope this translates into longer battery life, the battery in our editorial sample was actually quite good. In any case, we weren’t bothered by the battery bug that plagued some Galaxy Watch 7 models.

…but not the security patch

The fact that this update is primarily meant to fix bugs is evident from the lack of a more recent security patch. The Watch Ultra ran on the June patch immediately after it was released, and continues to do so after today’s update.

Installation and availability

You can install the new update on the Galaxy Watch Ultra via the link Wearable Program. Go to Watch Ultra Overview, then select Clock settingshandle Update the clock software And then Download and installYou need at least 30 percent battery charge to install the update.

The update is now available immediately in the Netherlands, Belgium, and most other European countries. Since there is only one version of the Watch Ultra – the 47mm with 4G, model number SM-L705F – you don’t have to wait for it to become available for your model.

Have you received the update on your Watch Ultra? Have you noticed any improvements? Or not?

(Thanks Marcel!)
