Ozor depicted Catherine in the white dress she wore during her father-in-law Charles’s first state banquet as king. She based her work on thousands of photos of the princess. The artist also incorporated the recent news surrounding Catherine’s cancer diagnosis into her canvas. “Without a doubt,” she told Sky News: “All my pictures are made up of different layers of the character, based on everything I can find about her.”

The Telegraph criticized the image, writing that it was “unbearably bad”. A lot of people on social media also think it doesn’t look good. “This is another woman in her dress,” someone writes on X, for example.

The first official photo of Charles, which was revealed last week, also received many divided reactions. Because of its mostly red colors, some people have even compared it to a scene from a horror movie.
