Dutch Eurovision Song Contest entrant Joost Klein will not train for tomorrow’s final until further notice. The event organization is investigating an “incident” involving Klein.

Swedish broadcaster SVT says the matter may involve a physical confrontation with a photographer. Regulator the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is keeping mum for now. In a written statement earlier this afternoon, the EBU said it was “only investigating an incident that has been reported to us.”

AVROTROS confirms that the investigation is ongoing. He added: “We are awaiting the outcome of this investigation and do not want to say anything about it until then.”

It is not clear what type of incident this was, and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) did not comment. Jost Klein qualified last night with Urubaba For the final, which will be held in the Swedish city of Malmo.

This afternoon’s rehearsal was another preparation for the final rehearsal at 9 p.m. The professional judging panel gives its points based on this year’s performance; So it is still unclear whether Joost Klein will participate.

Last minute

Apparently the Dutchman’s rehearsal this afternoon was canceled at the last minute. Klein was still present at the so-called flag parade at the beginning.

Here is a picture of the turnout the country witnessed earlier today:

In the rehearsal itself it will serve as the fifth act. The technicians were already set up at the front of the room with the equipment the singer would use on stage, but then the plan changed and Israel’s props appeared on stage. Nothing changed with the rest of the program.

Last night there was an amazing moment in the press conference after the semi-final. Journalists were allowed to ask questions of Joost Klein and the other winners of the evening, including Israeli participant Eden Golan.

Israel’s participation has led to protests by people who believe the country should not participate because of the war in Gaza. There are demonstrations at the Singer Hotel among other things.

The head is under the Dutch flag

A Polish journalist asked Golan if she considered her presence endangering other artists and the public. Then the press officer said she didn’t have to answer that.

“Why not?” Ghost Klein replied. When he asked this question, his head was under the Dutch flag, but he lowered it while answering. Then the Israeli singer answered. The moment was not clearly visible in the official photos, but it was recorded by one of the attendees.

But it is not clear whether the investigation now launched by the EBU relates specifically to this incident.
