Dave Rolfink, 30, opens up about reconnecting with his ex in the new issue of “&C.” In 2023, Dave and Jazlyn Dussois decided to end their relationship. They have a son, Dean, together. Dave says in the magazine that he still keeps in touch with Jazlyn and that they care about Dean equally.
“It’s not that we fall into each other’s arms when we see each other, but there’s no hatred or envy.”
“We are now co-parenting. We have fifty-fifty,” Dave said. The relationship between him and his ex-wife is good. Dave calls it a “mature band.” “It doesn’t mean that we all fall into each other’s arms when we see each other, but there’s no hatred or envy.” Dave can always call his ex when his son is with her. On the contrary, Dave is always available to her. Dave is happy that the connection is good. “We can celebrate his birthday and Christmas together, so to speak. I’m very happy about that.”
In the later years of their relationship, Dave and Jazlyn were together primarily for the sake of their son. Something Dave didn’t really want, because he had to experience it himself as a child. “I didn’t want my parents to be home at the same time because it would make me stressed if they were.” He desperately hoped his parents wouldn’t argue. Dave wanted to keep Dean from feeling the same way. “So be it,” he concludes.
There is no new woman in Dave’s life at the moment. “We’ve only been separated for six months. I have to recover from all the misery first.” Moreover, he is finding it difficult to find someone who suits him well.
Dave’s father, Dries Roelvink, recently released a song for the European Championship. He tells more about it in the video below.
