It’s the Omroep Brabant Wakker radio show! Finally achieved: justice for French fries. Presenter Koen Wijn was very upset that delivery service Thuisbezorgd only used “french fries” as a category. After a week of campaigning on radio and social media, the big news broke: French fries had officially become a category, under pressure from Brabenders.

Koen Wijn wanted to order the last of the French fries from Thuisbezorgd. “But what surprised me? There were French fries on the menu, but there were no French fries.” The show’s host, Quinn, and his producer, Mark Versteden, took action immediately.

A real campaign has begun. Listeners were urged to email the delivery service to request the addition of ‘french fries’. And they did it – collectively. Thuisbezorgd then returned the emails politely, but not with the desired answer. No french fries were added, the response was all week.

But persistence wins. Thuisbezorgd reported on Saturday that it had changed course and immediately added “fried potatoes” to its list of categories.

“We’ve noticed that our beloved golden brown potato meal has been causing some confusion. Over the Rivers we call it ‘French Fries’, but Under the Rivers everyone goes for ‘French Fries’. To everyone’s delight, we have now officially added the French Fries category.”

Thus the battle ends. As the German philosopher Immanuel Kant once said: “If justice is lost, there is no point for people to live on earth.” all’s well That ends well.
