The International Space Station will be visible in the evening this weekend.

These days, it is worth looking at the sky in the late evening hours. According to the Blaauw Observatory, you have a chance to see the International Space Station passing by.

“It is a very bright object in the sky and moves from west to east in about five minutes,” the observatory said. “In recent days, the ISS has been showing itself late in the evening.” The ISS consists of several modules that were launched separately. The first module was launched in 1998. The ISS has been permanently inhabited since the fall of 2000. It orbits the Earth every 91 minutes at an altitude of about 410 kilometers.

The fact that the ISS is clearly visible during this period is due to the fact that the Sun is not very far below the horizon. Although it is dark here, the Sun continues to shine at an altitude of 410 kilometers. This is why the station was seen twice last night. It appeared low above the western and northwestern horizons around 11 p.m. At 12:40 a.m., the ISS appeared low above the western horizon again. The Blaauw Observatory recommends using the free ISS Live Now app to see the exact location of the space station.
