In an article published at the same time as this roundup, we introduce our new WiFi network test setup, with which we can measure the characteristics of network equipment in a variety of scenarios. We see that the popularity of mesh kits in our Pricewatch is only increasing: this is a good reason to compare two of the most popular mesh kits with each other and with two other competitors.

In this first round of networking gear, we take a look at a number of mesh kits priced up to €300. Although this is the first round using the results of our network test setup, we cheated a bit with this selection. In addition to the TP-Link Deco X50 and the widely followed ASUS ZenWifi XD5, which consists of three access points, we look at a kit with two access points: the Fritz Mesh kit. Additionally, we review the more expensive Orbi RBK762, which, like the Fritz Mesh kit, has three radio bands, but also a higher advertised speed: AX5400 instead of the AX3000 rating of the other kits. By including these two kits in the results, we hope to get an idea of ​​the performance gains you can get if you spend a little more. In addition, we get a nice overview of the software, setup options and ease of installation of the various popular brands.

For all network combinations, we look at the hardware configuration, application or web interface capabilities, and performance we measured in different scenarios for our new test setup.
