Reality star Mark Gillies is having to learn to walk, talk and eat again. He is also “very confused and anxious at times,” said his father, Peter Gillies. The businessman’s son remains in intensive care.
Gillis, 28, was admitted to hospital in critical condition late last month. He was found to have severe pneumonia. On Monday, Peter announced that Mark had opened his eyes.
There are no beautiful moments
“The illness and the induced coma have taken a toll on his mental health. We hope that will go away soon,” Peter says. “As a family, it’s not a pleasant time to sit by his bedside and watch helplessly.”
Mark is working out in the hospital to regain his muscle strength. “It’s a long process that we think will take some time.”
