A 46-year-old Pakistani man has been charged in the US with plotting to assassinate an American politician. The US Department of Justice has announced that a man believed to have ties to the Iranian regime has been charged in connection with a failed assassination plot.

Nothing to do with attempted murder

The US news channel later insisted that the July 13 attack on Trump in Pittsburgh had nothing to do with the plan. The Justice Department now says there is no indication the case of the 46-year-old Pakistani is connected to the latest assassination attempt on Trump.
