Nominees for the ‘Perfect Travel Photo’ award are disgusted by the task: ‘We won’t do this!’ | RTL Street

Kandidaten Het Perfecte Plaatje Op Reis walgen voor opdracht: 'Dit gaan we niet doen hoor!'

Nominees for the Perfect Travel Photo award are always excited when they are told what task they have to do. In the third episode of the season, which was recorded in Thailand, this is not the case at all with the second photo shoot. Candidates even express their disgust and displeasure before the task.

“If you see that mess lying around, it’s impossible!”

The remaining eight participants are in Chiang Mai, where they have been taken to an elephant enclosure. Then all sorts of features appear, such as a beach ball, a bicycle, a dartboard, a stand and some hoops. This immediately attracts candidates. Galleon gets a “bad feeling” when he sees the props and Freesia doesn’t like them either. “Everything I see, I see the traits that elephants have to do all kinds of things in tourist places. It gives me a little uneasy feeling.”

Kaj gets a lump in his throat because of the things in front of him. April is resolute: “I think we have to draw a line here. This is unethical and we shouldn’t do it.” Danny also believes that this is “no longer possible.” “We live in the modern era.” Mark also gets angry: “If you see that mess, it’s not possible!”

When all the candidates have something in their hands, Freesia shouts: “We’re not doing this, guys!” Then Lieutenant Colonel Teagle explains the mission. “We won’t do anything with the props you chose. The elephant is a wild animal, we can only record it, not direct it.” Then pictures are shown of elephants being used in “tourist entertainment”, where the elephants are first beaten with a hooked stick.

What the candidates have to do in the end is take an “artistic photo” of the elephants. “I think it’s a great job,” says Susan. “You know these elephants are well taken care of here. It’s great.”

In the end, Mark is the one who takes the least creative photo of the elephant. He also finished last in the first task, meaning he got to go home. He leaves the program “with his head held high.”

The perfect photo when traveling See you every Wednesday at 8:30pm on RTL 4. Did you miss the episode? You can watch it again on Videoland.
