Because there are quite a few diplomatic obstacles and consequences if weapons from your country are used in another country. That is why Ukrainians are not allowed to use certain weapons for offense, only for defense. Long-range weapons are also only allowed for defense purposes.

Short-range weapons can be used freely in both defense and offense.

Now that the Ukrainian military has begun operations on Russian territory, more and more Russian targets are within range of these short-range weapons. So the military can finally move forward, rather than waiting for permission.

Ukraine also has its own industry that manufactures drone weapons, which are used particularly effectively. These weapons are usually effective, but today’s Russian army is filled with prisoners and other people who have no taste for war. However, the Russian military leadership is corrupt and incompetent, which is why many Russian soldiers die every day. You can still adequately supplement the soldiers, but it is the “greens” who end up in units where morale is low, due to the lack of food, housing and war materials available.

Soldiers in the Ukrainian army usually last (much) longer, are better armed, and (compared to the Russians) have much better morale. So war experience is more important and better army leadership. But yes, their army is much smaller than the Russian one, and the loss of soldiers is more significant.

“Fortunately” there are now Russian units that have begun to decorate the walls of their positions on the battlefield with the severed heads of prisoners. Follow the war here. Updated almost every hour (from different news sources, in writing and often also via video).

Back to the point. DAF is developing a vehicle for the Army and the US military leadership is already interested. I mean the operational unit commanders. The top end is tied to supplier contracts. The Humvee is still the vehicle of their Army, but many commanders in the field see little progress in further development and improvement.

This is why the new DAF equipment can be operated more efficiently without losing its effectiveness. It can also be used in a variety of terrain types (without the need for modifications). It is also quieter and more fuel efficient.

So people are not really blind, but politicians in the United States primarily benefit from keeping the war industry in their country. As a result, the good ideas that NATO members put forward are not implemented. Simple: “It was not invented here” is the rule there.
