The share of basement and upstairs homes is now more than double that of detached homes,” according to the data company.

For example, in 2013 there were 18% detached houses and 26% basement and loft houses in Amsterdam. Last year, the number of detached homes in Amsterdam fell to 17 percent. The number of apartments on the lower and upper floors increased to 46 percent.
