Reality star Mark Gillies’ condition has deteriorated in recent days. The 28-year-old son of holiday park mogul Peter Gillies was admitted to hospital almost two weeks ago with serious pneumonia. His family said in a statement that he was still fighting for his life in intensive care.

While things seemed to be going better earlier this week, he is now experiencing “more fever again” and needs more support from his ventilator, a statement from Gillis’ family reads.

Peter and his partner Wendy said Monday that Mark had opened his eyes but was still fighting for his life. However, they had seen a “slow” upward trend.

“Wake up as soon as possible”
Last week, Mark showed improvement, “but eventually he had relapses again.” Doctors are working hard to find a way to create a good balance with ventilation. “The goal is for Mark to wake up from the induced coma as quickly as possible. We have full confidence in their approach as well as in our brand.

For the family, his recovery seems to have stalled for now. “But we are still hopeful that we will make progress again soon.” Mark’s family says they are grateful to all the doctors and nurses who are “doing their best.”

They also thanked in the statement all the support they received.
