Peter was the first presenter of “Zomergasten” in 1988. In its first season he spoke with writer Renate Rubinstein and film director Peter Verhoef, among others. Peter was the regular presenter of the show until 1995 and editor-in-chief between 2003 and 2014.

According to Peter, Eric joined the programme at a “good time”, as he had just finished his post as a Minister of State and started as a Member of Parliament. “This is a good time to look back and think about the future,” Peter says.

The second returning presenter is Jelle Brandt Korstius, who previously sat in the interview chair in the summers of 2010 and 2011. She interviewed photographer Erwin Olav and comedian Mark Marie Huijbregts, among others. This time he got Sanna Valjona. The Estonian-born writer is best known for the novel Didar And Farooq.

The following week, Joris Luyendijk (2006 and 2007) welcomes Palestinian-Dutch photographer Saqer Khader. Khader won the Silver Camera in 2023.

Writer and journalist Janine Abring, who has been absent from the show since 2022, will be joined by China scholar and China correspondent Gary Van Binkstren. Janine previously said she was curious about how Gary sees the rapidly changing Asian nation.

The fifth summer guest is human rights lawyer Liesbeth Ziegveld. She is interviewed by Margriet van der Linden. She previously appeared on the show as an interviewer in 2009. Hanneke Groenteman ends the season. She talks with actor Pierre Bokma. Groenteman was already associated with Zomergasten in 1998. In her season she talked with radio producer Willem van Kooten and others.
