At first, the young woman used mukbang streams as a side income, but as her viewership grew, she began to see it as a potential career. Eventually, Pan quit her job and rented a house that she used as a studio for her mukbang streams, as her parents disapproved of her new job due to concerns about her health.

The more people watched her mukbang broadcast, the more Pan Xiaoting ignored her health. She came up with all sorts of extreme challenges that attracted viewers but took a toll on her body. Her parents constantly warned her about the dangers of overeating, as did some of her viewers who worried that she was eating herself to an early grave.

Pan Xiaoting has never been one of the thinnest girls, but during her mukbang career, her weight increased to around 300 kilograms. However, she didn’t worry about it and instead continued to eat. At one point, she was hospitalized and diagnosed with stomach bleeding due to overeating. She was treated for her condition and later discharged from the hospital, and the first thing Pan did was return to her mukbang streams.
