The HagueWhen he was only twenty years old, he studied history in Leiden, like many young men of that age. Now, nearly forty years later, he lives in a huge villa and has several million in the bank. What is the secret of Willem-Alexander’s success?

“Willem-Alexander’s life is like a thrilling boys’ book,” says Roelof Pinchops, who has studied Willem-Alexander’s life. “He didn’t really stand out in his school days. He lived in a student house with three roommates, and he occasionally drank beer, which is exactly what students do. At that time, no one would have imagined that he would go further than his peers.

Because success was not long in coming. Willem-Alexander became an internationally respected expert in water management, a career that certainly did him no harm. At a young age, his fortune broke the magic million mark.

“The sky is the limit”

“But it didn’t stop there. Willem-Alexander’s ambitions went much further,” says Pinchops. “Willem-Alexander graduated from the KLM flight academy, secured a senior position with the International Olympic Committee and soon counted many international celebrities and dignitaries among his circle of friends. He even shook hands with heroes like Nelson Mandela and Barack Obama. There are few Dutch people who can say that.”

Willem-Alexander once lived in a student house. He now lives in a magnificent villa in The Hague.

“Willem-Alexander’s success seems to know no bounds,” says Pinchops. “For him, the sky is the limit.” So it’s no surprise that many ambitious young people see Willem-Alexander as a great role model. “He shows us every day what you can achieve with hard work.”
