Android 15 will be released in October, Google told beta program users. The developer preview has been available since the winter; the first beta was released last spring.

Users who want to exit the beta program will see a screen with a rollback to Android 14. The message indicates that users waiting for the stable release can expect it in October. Robot Authority ReportsGoogle has not previously mentioned a month for the release of Android 15.

Android 15 will be released later in the year than some previous versions of Android. Stable builds have also sometimes been released in August or September. Android 15 has several new features, such as Private Space. This allows users to hide Android apps in a separate environment, which can only be accessed after authenticating with a PIN or fingerprint. There will also be App Pairs. Users with a tablet or foldable device can select two apps to display side by side. A shortcut can then be placed on the home screen to open this group at once.

There’s also an improved predictive navigation feature. This lets users see a preview when they’re “going” again by swiping up on their screen. Additionally, Android will support satellite texting when there’s no cellular or Wi-Fi connection available.

Android 15 will be released first for Google’s Pixel phones. The Pixel 6 and later will get the upgrade. Other smartphone manufacturers usually follow suit in the following months.
