GMKtec Unveils Mini PC with AMD Ryzen 9 APU and OcuLink – Computer – News

GMKtec is introducing a new mini PC powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 APU with a 70W TDP. The mini PC also has an OCuLink port for connecting external GPUs. It is not known how much the mini PC will cost or when exactly it will be released.

The Chinese company has shared images of its new mini PC. Via the social media platform Weibo. GMKtec reveals few details. The manufacturer states that the PC will feature an “R9” processor. This indicates that the system will feature a Ryzen 9 8945HS CPU based on Zen 4, VideoCardz speculatesLater this month, AMD will release a new chip based on the Zen 5 architecture, but it will have a new naming convention for Ryzen AI. GMKtec previously released a mini PC with a Ryzen 9 8945HS CPU, but it had a lower TDP of 65W.

The mini PC also features OCuLink connectivity for connecting an external GPU. The device also gets USB-C and USB-A ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, a DisplayPort 2.0 connection, and two 2.5GbE network ports. The images posted by GMKTech also show a vapor chamber for cooling. It is not yet known when GMKtec will release more details about the mini PC.
